CarrGo Astro documentation
SEO and sharing
What CarrGo does for search engines and social sharing, and what to set before you launch.
What CarrGo does for you
- Page titles and descriptions from each page’s
titleanddescription. Titles end with your company name, as in “Fares · CarrGo”. - Canonical addresses on every page, built from
siteinastro.config.mjs. - Share images. When a page is shared on social media or in a chat, a 1200×630 picture is made from the page’s
image, or fromshareImageinsite.config.ts. - Structured data that helps search engines understand your business:
TaxiServiceon the home page, with your phone, email, address, opening hours and the areas from your city filesTaxiServicefor each city pageServiceon each service pageBlogPostingon each blog postFAQPagefrom each FAQ block- breadcrumbs on every page below the home page
- A sitemap at
/sitemap-index.xml, without the block library, the style guide and the thank-you page. - An RSS feed of your blog at
/rss.xml. - Speed. Search engines favour fast pages. CarrGo ships almost no JavaScript, one small font and modern image formats, so pages load quickly even on phones.
Before you launch
- Set
siteinastro.config.mjsto your real address. The sitemap, canonical links and share images use it. - Give every page a
descriptionof about 150 characters that says what’s on it, in words people search for (“airport taxi Northfield, fixed fares”). - Write real copy for each city page. “Taxi” plus a town name is how most riders search, and a page per area with genuine local detail is your best chance of being found.
- Replace the demo reviews, numbers and team with your own. Never publish made-up reviews.
- Set
demo.enabled: false, and delete/blocks/and/style-guide/if you don’t want them online. - After publishing, add your site in Google Search Console and submit
https://yoursite.com/sitemap-index.xml. - Create or claim your Google Business Profile with the same name, address and phone number as on your site. For a taxi firm, it matters as much as the website.
Keep a page out of search results
Add noindex: true to the page’s front matter. The thank-you page already has it.
