CarrGo Astro documentation

Getting started

Install CarrGo, run it on your computer and publish your taxi or transfer company's website, step by step.

Thanks for choosing CarrGo. This guide takes you from the downloaded zip to your own site running on your computer. You don’t need to be a developer: pages, vehicles, services, cities and blog posts are all plain text files.

Requirements

  • Node.js 22.12 or newer. Check your version by typing node -v in a terminal. If you need to install or update it, download the LTS version from nodejs.org.
  • A code editor. VS Code is free and offers to install the Astro extension, which highlights mistakes as you type.

Install

  1. Unzip carrgo-astro-v1.0.0.zip and move the carrgo-astro folder to wherever you keep your projects.
  2. Open a terminal in that folder (in VS Code: Terminal → New Terminal) and install everything CarrGo needs:
npm install

Preview your site

npm run dev

Open http://localhost:4321 in your browser. Keep it open while you edit: the page updates every time you save a file.

The download includes the demo photos, so your site looks complete from the start. Swap them for your own whenever you’re ready. See Colours, fonts and photos.

Make it yours

  1. Your company. Open src/site.config.ts and change the name, phone number, WhatsApp, email, address, opening hours, licence line, menus and social links. See Site settings.
  2. Your bookings. Choose where booking requests go: Web3Forms, Formspree, WhatsApp or email. See Booking and forms.
  3. Your prices. Set your pickup charge, rate per km or mile, rate per minute, night rate and fixed airport fares. See Fares and the estimator.
  4. Your fleet, services and areas. Edit the files in src/content/fleet/, services/ and cities/. See Fleet, services and cities.
  5. Your pages. Each page is a list of blocks. Copy any block from the block library into a page. See Pages and blocks.
  6. Your drivers. Set the numbers behind the earnings calculator, and where driver applications go. See Driver recruitment.
  7. The demo bar. Set demo.enabled: false in site.config.ts. The yellow bar at the top is only for showing off the theme.
  8. Your legal pages. Adapt privacy.md and terms.md in src/content/pages/ to your business and country.
  9. Your domain. Set site in astro.config.mjs to your address, for example https://yourcabs.com.

Publish

npm run build

This creates a dist folder containing your finished website. Deploying shows how to put it online for free.
