Lyra Astro documentation

Site settings

Every option in src/site.config.ts, from your organisation's name to the menus and footer.

src/site.config.ts holds your organisation’s details and the parts that appear on every page. Pages, causes, campaigns, events and stories have their own files in src/content/.

Text in more than one language

Any text in this file can be one string, used in every language:

name: 'Lyra',

or one string per language:

tagline: { en: 'Clean water for every family.', es: 'Agua limpia para cada familia.' },

Links to your own pages, such as /about/, are switched to the visitor’s language automatically (/es/about/), so you write each link once.

The menu

Each item has a label and an href. Give an item children and it becomes a dropdown:

nav: [
  { label: { en: 'About', es: 'Nosotros' }, href: '/about/', children: [
{ label: { en: 'Our story', es: 'Nuestra historia' }, href: '/about/' },
    { label: { en: 'Team & board', es: 'Equipo y patronato' }, href: '/team/' },
  ] },
  { label: { en: 'Contact', es: 'Contacto' }, href: '/contact/' },
],

On phones the whole menu opens in a panel from the menu button. The Donate button in the header links to your donate page, set by donate.page.

footer.about is a short paragraph under your logo. footer.columns is a list of link columns, each with a title and links. footer.legalLinks sit on the bottom line beside the copyright.

The donation settings are in the same file, in donate. They’re explained in Donations.

Words the theme prints

Button labels, form labels, “days left”, screen-reader text and similar words are in src/i18n/ui.ts, with one block per language. Change them there, for example to say “Give” instead of “Donate”.
