Common questions

Does Mira take bookings or payments?

No. It sends patients to the booking system you already use (Jane, Cliniko, Calendly, Setmore, Practo or any other) and offers phone, WhatsApp and email beside it. Your booking system handles calendars, reminders and payments. See Booking, hours and clinics.

Is it only for physiotherapy?

No. It suits chiropractors, osteopaths, massage therapists, sports clinics, and holistic centres offering Ayurveda, acupuncture or yoga therapy. Rename the treatment kinds’ labels in src/i18n/ui.ts (type.physio, type.holistic, type.massage) to match your services.

Can I run more than one clinic?

Yes. Add a file per clinic to src/content/locations/, each with its own address, phone, opening hours and map. The first one is your main clinic for the footer and the home page’s “Open now”.

Can I use it in one language only?

Yes. See Languages. It takes three deletions.

Can I use photos instead of the illustrations, or the other way round?

Both. A hero, page header or call to action takes image: for a photo or art: for an illustration. Condition and treatment cards show their art when it’s set.

Do I need to code?

No. Your details, pages, conditions, treatments, clinics, team and posts are edited in plain text files, and these docs explain every setting. You’ll need to run a few commands to install and publish the site.

Fixing problems

The build stops with an error about a page

Read the message: it names the file and the field, such as sections.2.variant. Usually it’s a typo or a missing value. If it says a value “has no value” and mentions quotes, a comma cut a text short inside { … }: put the whole text in “quotes”.

“Open now” is wrong

Check timezone in site.config.ts and the times in your location file ("08:00-13:00", 24-hour clock). The status is worked out in the visitor’s browser, so it’s right in every time zone.

The booking box is blank

Your booking system doesn’t allow its page inside other sites. Set embed: false in booking and the button opens it as a normal link.

Search says it isn’t ready

Search is built with the site. Run npm run build and npm run preview to try it.

Changes don’t appear

Save the file, and check the terminal running npm run dev for an error. If you changed content.config.ts or added a folder, stop the preview with Ctrl+C and start it again.

The Book button shows a pretend calendar

That’s the demo setting. Set booking.url in site.config.ts to your booking page and delete src/pages/demo-booking.astro.
