Altair is a single-page portfolio theme for Astro, made for developers and designers who want their work to do the talking. Everything sits on one calm, fast page: who you are, what you’ve built, where you’ve worked, and how to reach you.
Who it’s for
Product designers, front-end and full-stack developers, freelancers and consultants who need a personal site that looks considered, loads instantly and takes an afternoon to make their own.
What’s inside
A hero with an availability badge, live local time, a hand-drawn underline and an arched portrait. Then a staggered project grid, an about section with a toolbox, numbered services, an experience timeline, testimonials, a writing list and a bold contact panel with a copy-email button. A built-in blog adds post pages with comfortable reading typography, code highlighting and an RSS feed. Light and dark themes follow the visitor’s system setting, and a single accent color restyles the whole page.
Built the Astro way
Altair uses Astro 7 content collections with schemas, one component per section with scoped styles, the built-in Fonts API with a metric-matched fallback, and responsive AVIF and WebP images. There is no UI framework and almost no JavaScript, so there is very little to slow it down or maintain.
Set up in minutes
Download the theme, run npm install and npm run dev. Put your name, accent color and links in src/site.config.ts, add projects as Markdown files, edit the YAML lists, and deploy the dist folder to Cloudflare Pages, Netlify, Vercel or GitHub Pages.

Who is Altair for?
Developers, designers and freelancers who want a personal site that presents their work, experience and contact details on one fast page.
What sections does it include?
A hero with availability and local time, clients, selected work, about with a toolbox, services, experience, testimonials, writing and contact. Remove the entries of any section and it disappears from the page and the menu.
Does Altair include a blog?
Yes. Write posts in Markdown and they get their own pages, an RSS feed and code highlighting that follows light and dark mode. Your latest posts also appear on the home page. If you do not need a blog, delete the sample posts and it disappears.
How do I edit the content?
Site settings and short texts live in one config file. Projects are Markdown files and the other lists are simple YAML files, all checked against schemas, so a typo shows a clear error instead of a broken page.
Does it really score 100 on PageSpeed?
Altair ships one font file, under 2 KB of JavaScript and no layout shift, and it is built to score 100 on Lighthouse once deployed on a host with compression, such as Cloudflare Pages or Netlify.
Can I change the colors and fonts?
Yes. Change one accent color and the buttons, badge and highlights follow it, in both light and dark modes. Fonts are set in the Astro config through the built-in Fonts API.
Where can I host it?
Anywhere that serves static files: Cloudflare Pages, Netlify, Vercel or GitHub Pages. Run npm run build and upload the dist folder.
What does the license cover?
One website or client project, with six months of premium support and future updates included.
